Grado SR-60 Headphones £73.99

The brilliant Grado SR60 headphones have beaten similarly priced models from Sennheiser, Beyer, Koss and Sony in a headphone super test in the July 2002 issue of What Hifi magazine. 'EXCELLENT'

Strengths:

Highly detailed sound, with no coloration. Well extended and effortless bass extension without any audible distortion. Mechanically good design as well - the cord is just about long enough and is rugged. Very comfortable even after hours of use.

Weaknesses:

The styling could be brought into the 21st century a bit without too much redesign. But for what really matters (the sound) - no real weaknesses.

Overall:

Take no notice of the reviews criticising sound leakage - these headphones are quite clearly specified as an open-backed design - if you don't like that then don't buy them. I do! Am exciting sound but without fatigue. So an excellent purchase.
