As the entry level of Audioquest's HDMI range, you could be forgiven for thinking the Audioquest Pearl HDMI was not worth a second look. You would be very wrong and could miss out on a fantastic cable which benefits from an extensive spec sheet matched with an affordable price tag. This does a sterling job and more. The Audioquest Pearl is a must upgrade if you are only using the "freebie" cable supplied with your equipment. Visible improvements include sharper and deeper coloured images with more stability with fast moving action scenes.

What HiFi Five Stars, Jun. 2011: " The attractive Pearl sits at the budget end of the HDMI spectrum. But it's no slouch: with a full high speed spec, including 3D capability, audio return channel and ethernet compatibility. Images are crisp and stable, with detail springing to life from the off. Colours, especially skin tones, are natural, while you also get a wide, far ranging sounds that digs deep when required. As a first upgrade to your system, the pearl is the one."
