'WORKS VERY WELL FOR PEANUTS'

Strengths:

the tacima opens up music and movie playback very nicely, akin to a more expensive spkr cable or interconnect upgrade

Weaknesses:

perhaps 8 way rather than 6 would suit more users, nonedescript looks compared to more established and expensive options ie RA mains gear

Overall:

picked two up for less than £23.00 each delivered from amazon, i tested them on my old denon av amp, as i knew its sound so well and the tacima gave it a very obvious shot in the arm, detail retrieval was improved and the soundstage improved too, they make russ andrews entry level mains gear seem very expensive

'VERY EFFECTIVE UPGRADE'

Strengths:

Makes a big difference and is cheap as chips.

Weaknesses:

Would be nice in white so the cable doesn't show up so much against the skirting board. I'm hard to please.

Overall:

I was a bit sceptical but it really has made a difference. Fine details are clearer and positioning is more precise is stable. Everything just sounds much more lifelike and dynamics seem better. A bit of searching on the web will let you find this at much less than the £40 recommended price. I paid £23 including delivery. At £40 I may not have bothered but now that I have it I think the even £40 is a bargain for the effect it has. Maybe the difference it will make for any particular setup depends on how clean the mains is to start with or how good the internal filtering is inside your equipment but for me (CA Azur 340C, Azur 340A SE and S30 speakers, Atlas Equator MKII interconnects and QED Silver Anniversary speaker cables), the improvement is significant.

'VERY GOOD VALUE'

Strengths:

Price is the main strength of this unit with good performance for not a lot of money. I paid only £20 for mine a couple of years ago in Maplin sale.

Weaknesses:

None for the money.

Overall:

A very good performance for peanuts. However if you have a very good system, I would strongly recommend the Isotek Sigmus, but at 25 times the price of the Tacima it would be foolish to expect the Tacima to be in the same league. So buy the Tacima for the right system and you won't regret it. I use mine in the second system and have had no problems in 2 years.

None, as far as Im aware.

Overall:

Having tried a Musicworks Mega Block at £300, which was a quality device, but not wanting to pay that sort of money, I tried a cheaper (£200) QED unit, which wasnt as good. I then saw a comment made about the Tacima, and decided to try one. It improved the sound to almost the degree that using The MW unit gave, and really did out perform the QED. Its hard to explain exactly the end result without resorting to over used cliches, but, everything just sounded better, with a dynamism (is that the right description?) that wasnt there without it! There are some people that have tried these without an improvement, possibly ymmv, but I would definitely recommend the Tac 100%

Excellent value, does what it says on the tin. Has improved both picture and sound and cut interference.

Overall:

I bought this kind of on a whim. I'd read about mains conditioners in WhatHifi and had an interference problem on my signal sender. I figured that for £40, it wouldn't do any harm and any benefit could only be a bonus. It's not only cut down the interence and made the signal on my second tv much cleaner but has improved both audio and video on my main tv. Neat piece of kit - i recommend this wholeheartedly!
