'SR60I. EXCELLENT, HEADPHONE HEVEAN.' |
|
| Strengths: |
Openness, clarity, warm deep bass. The headphones that don't remind you that you're wearing headphones. Fantastic value for money and will leave you re-visiting you entire music collection and hearing it all a-new. |
| Weaknesses: |
They are comfortable but it may take some adjustment to get there. They are an open back design so everyone around you will hear what you're listening to. |
| Overall: |
This is a review for the Grado SR-60i. An improved version of their excellent SR-60. These are the best headphones I have ever owned. From the first time you listen to them, they drag out detail from your music that you never know was there. The first track I listened to was Tracy Chapman's 'Behind the Wall'. Although her beautiful soulful voice was there, centre stage, now I get an impression of the room it was recorded in. I know this sounds subtle but the effect is breathtaking. Then, moving on to 'Baby Can I Hold You' and it feels that you have been invited in to a private gig just for you. You can reach out and touch every instrument and hear every breath. I cant imaging how much better the more expensive Grado's must be but the SR-60i's are simply excellent and open up a level of detail and entertainment that you could not find by spending this amount of money in any other way. |
