'DETAILED SOUND BUT NOT CONFIDENT WITH BASS'

Strengths:

clear and detailed sound. Good quality feel and high end termination.

Weaknesses:

Lacks attack and punch in the lower sound regions.

Overall:

My earlier system with Onkyo and KEF iQ felt a little bit tired at times and lacked the speed and attack you want when playing rythmic music. The XT400 brought more balance to this matter, at the cost of losing hardcore bass. Even when compared to my no-name cables, XT400 doesnt perform satisfactory in this regard.

'VERY DETAILED SOUND AND CONTROLLED BASS'

Strengths:

clear and detailed sound (without beying harsh!); very tight and precise bass; quite fast sound; more than reasonable price

Weaknesses:

maybe it could be overbright with already bright solid state electronics

Overall:

With my electronics they sound great, avoyding the slight lost of bass control that my amp (Primaluna Prologue one) may suffer, expecially with the wrong cables (as I experienced!). It also tames a little the colouration of my Audio Note Az-two loudspeakers, which is not a bad thing. Maybe with a more aggressive and bright solid state amp they could sound too sharp, but I didn't try this combination
